Denim bucket hat by Maison Martin Margiela, $105.00 at Project No. 8

Bucket hats were never cool.  Bucket hats never will be cool.  Avey Tare is cool despite his bucket hats.  Even diehard Animal Collective fans think it looks dumb.  Imagine this is the beginning of 2009 and Merriweather Post Pavillion is the coolest thing out there.  In this situation, bucket hats are still not cool.  I know MMM is all about the high/low thing, but at a certain point, you are just spending a ton of money on something tacky and lame.

Hair rings by Bijules NYC, $286.00 at Pixie Market
Yes, you read it correctly.  These are earrings made of real human hair.  I don’t take issue with extensions using real human hair, but this grosses me out.  I have no justification for this, I fully admit my hypocrisy.  Whether or not you think human hair as a fashion accessory is gross, we can all agree these are ugly, right?  Blonde hair with pink tips is so Gwen Stefani back in the day when she was tolerable.

Kudos to Bijules NYC to including a comb with the hairrings, though.  I mean, could you imagine what would happen if those dread-locked?

Jumbo hair clips by Adia Kibur, $15.00 for two at Shopbop
Ok, so it’s not so pricey.  But holy crap is that ridiculously large.  I actually put this in my “to be blogged” file some time ago, but they soon sold out.  Meaning people actually bought these.  Meaning you may see someone on the street wearing these.  I guess shopbop decided these were such a popular money maker they restocked them, thus allowing me to post them in all their glory.
